Open Letter from the Internationalist Group to the Spartacist League and ICL

The Spartacist League/U.S. and the International Communist League it leads are in a heap of political trouble. The International Executive Committee of the ICL has now issued a statement “Repudiating Our Position on Haiti Earthquake,” headlined “A Capitulation to U.S. Imperialism” (27 April 2010). More specifically, it repudiates the SL/ICL’s support to the U.S./U.N. invasion of Haiti in the name of humanitarian aid. The statement doesn’t mince words, characterizing the position taken by the SL’s newspaper Workers Vanguard as “a betrayal of the fundamental principle of opposition to one’s ‘…

UNITED STATES MILITARY SUPREMACY : OVERLORD

Summary: The United States Armed Forces Announces Military Supremacy Over All Spaces; I Reserve The Spaces Of my Brain Free From USA Control.

This week the United States Armed Forces announces complete military supremacy on land, sea, air, outerspace, cyberspace and any other space required to enforce and maintain said supremacy. This means that the personal space of individuals, hetetofore deemed off limits to government assassins, are subject to invasion and control by remote manipulation, programming, cooking, or entraining the human brain; thus, the military seeks to override the traditional cognitive abilities of the human brain by which faith in the Deity is possible and from which the greatest imaginative powers of the universe have been tapped.

The G8 is using the food crisis to promote their free trade agenda (Hokkaido, 9 July 2008) Reacting to the G8 Leaders statement on Global Food Security issued last night in Hokkaido, Via Campesina farmer leader Mr. Yoshitaka Mashima said: «We do not understand why the G8 leaders pretend to solve the food crisis with more free trade while it is the liberalisation of agriculture and food markets that continue to lead us to the current crisis. People need to eat local food to protect themselves from the instability of world markets. We do not need more imported food».

At a press conference today, farmers leaders said that the G8 governments were mistakenly using the current food and climate crisis to promote the free trade agenda that is serving large companies and not producers of food and consumers. The G8 leader’s statement insists on reviving the agonising WTO negotiations and on preventing countries from regulating food exports.

However, small farmers around the world, men and wo…

Global anti-poverty campaigners say G8 come out shaky on climate, food, development and Africa

Members of the Global Call to Action Against Poverty (GCAP) alliance from Northern and Southern coalitions at the Japanese G8 Summit this week have reacted to the final communiques on food security, climate change, development & Africa, with a mix of disappointment and frustration.

Food Security Communique

While GCAP welcomes the $10billion pledged by the G8 since January 2008 towards the global food price crisis, it is still a knee-jerk response that doesn't address the long-term structural causes.

"The G8 promotion of the `development of open and efficient agricultural and food markets' has denied poor people the chance to feed themselves today. It treats food as a mere commodity," said Joseph Ssuuna, PELUM Association, Uganda.

Press Release July 9th 2008

* Hundreds join Ainu march * International Activists Call for Support for Japanese Prisoners * Final statement by international activists

Today, in the concluding event of ten days of G8 protests, hundreds of activists from three protest camps marched in a demonstration organized by the Ainu, a disenfranchised indigenous population of Hokkaido, the island where the G8summit is being held. The march was surrounded by several rows of police the entire time. Protesters were holding signs in English and Japanese saying "NoG8", and "Japan is a police state".

"The Japanese government's policies towards the Ainu are symbolic of the G8's policies of dominance and oppression throughout the world", said Japanese organizers.

The exerciser of overwhelming violence was the police. For instance, they stopped the track forcely, broke the window with policeman's club etc, and dragged out the driver while hanging him.
Reacting to the G8 Leaders statement on Global Food Security issued last night in Hokkaido, Via Campesina farmer leader Mr.
At Sapporo in Japan on the “Challenge the Summit – 10,000 people peacewalk” four people were arrested. Our G8 Media Network member was arrested. The media are not talking about this. We find this arrest regrettable.

At the time of arrest, the G8 Media Network data collection group and a large number of witnesses were present, but the police excessively controlled the march and it is not clear why the police decided that an arrest was necessary. In addition, the situation has got to the point where authorised, foreign journalists are arrested, but you can see that the police were disturbed since the beginning by being photographed by a data collection person. The attitude of harshly controlling people who peacefully demonstrate and people…

THE INFERNAL NOISE BRIGADE, the anarcho marching band that had performed in the midst of actions against G8 or WTO whenever they were held in a city, and gave the protesters courage and danceable impetus. Anarchist dj FILASTINE has been dropping sound bombs that smash borders and go beyond them. These two provided their music for NO G8 ACTION JAPAN, a network against this year's G8 held by lake Toya in Hokkaido. The compilation contains 11 unreleased songs from their early music career by the I.N.B and the latest mix by Filastine. Listening to this will certainly hype you up enough to get together with others and plunge into Hokkaido in July.
